Imouzzer Kandar does not change its clocks; times stay on Africa/Casablanca all year. How times are calculated

Imouzzer Kandar, the Sun and the clock

Imouzzer Kandar is in Fes-Meknes and has about 21,000 people. The nearest larger city is Sefrou, 20 km to the northeast. Imouzzer Kandar lies 20° west of the 15° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 80 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 13:20, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.

The Sun never stands straight overhead in Imouzzer Kandar: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 80° above the horizon in June and only 33° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Imouzzer Kandar range from 9h 54m in December to 14h 24m in June, a difference of 4h 30m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them. At 1,352 m above sea level, Imouzzer Kandar sits on high ground. Times are calculated for a level horizon; from a hilltop or a tall building sunrise can come a little earlier and sunset a little later than listed, while mountains to the east or west do the opposite.
