During Ramadan Morocco sets its clocks back an hour (UTC+0 instead of UTC+1); the times above use the clock in force on each day.

Fes does not change its clocks; times stay on Africa/Casablanca all year. How times are calculated
Fes is the main city of Fes-Meknes, home to about 1,200,000 people. Fes lies 20° west of the 15° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 80 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 13:20, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.
The Sun never stands straight overhead in Fes: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 79° above the horizon in June and only 33° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Fes range from 9h 53m in December to 14h 25m in June, a difference of 4h 32m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
Prayer times shift with longitude: about 4 minutes for every degree east or west. Here is how today's Fajr and Maghrib in nearby places compare with Fes, calculated with the same method.
| City | Distance | Fajr | Maghrib | Maghrib vs Fes |

Get Awqatly for Windows (free)Fes is home to the University of al-Qarawiyyin, in the old city of Fes el-Bali. It was founded as a mosque by Fatima al-Fihri in 857 to 859, although some historians question this account, in the 9th century when Fes was the capital of the Idrisid dynasty. UNESCO and Guinness World Records cite it as the oldest continually operating institution of higher learning in the world. Over time successive dynasties expanded the mosque until it became the largest in Africa, with room for 22,000 worshippers.
For centuries it worked as a madrasa. Its teaching centres on the Islamic religious and legal sciences, with particular strength in classical Arabic grammar and Maliki law, and scholars regard it as effectively run as a madrasa until after the Second World War. Women were first admitted in the 1940s, and it was incorporated into Morocco's state university system in 1963. The library was founded by Sultan Abu Inan in 1349, and by 1613 one conservator estimated its collection at 32,000 volumes. Ibn Khaldun, Ibn al-Khatib, Leo Africanus and Muhammad al-Idrisi are among those connected with it as students or lecturers.
For prayer times, Fes lies at 34 degrees north. The Ministry of Habous in Rabat publishes the official timetable for each city, and this site follows the Ministry's method as described in secondary sources, which we have not yet compared with its own tables. On this site's calculation the fast from Fajr to Maghrib in Fes lasts about 16 and a half hours on 21 June and 11 and a half hours on 21 December. During Ramadan Morocco sets its clocks back an hour, from UTC+1 to UTC+0, and the times here use the clock in force on each day. Congregation times are set by each mosque.
