Ramadan timetable for MedanMethod: Kemenag (Indonesia). Asr: Standard.
Times follow Kemenag's method (Fajr 20°, Isha 18°, 2 to 3 minutes of ihtiyat). They match Kemenag's jadwal sholat to within a minute. Kemenag also corrects for a place's height above sea level, which we do not, so a mountain town can differ a little more.

Medan does not change its clocks; times stay on Asia/Jakarta all year. How times are calculated
Medan is the main city of North Sumatra, home to about 2,500,000 people. Medan lies 6.3° west of the 105° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 25 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 12:25, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.
Medan lies within the tropics. Around 30 March and 14 September the Sun passes straight overhead at Dhuhr, and upright objects cast almost no shadow at noon. Day length hardly changes in Medan, from 11h 55m to 12h 20m through the year, so prayer times move only a little from season to season.
Prayer times shift with longitude: about 4 minutes for every degree east or west. Here is how today's Fajr and Maghrib in nearby places compare with Medan, calculated with the same method.

Get Awqatly for Windows (free)Medan, the capital of North Sumatra, had 2,435,252 residents at the 2020 census, and Wikipedia lists a mid-2024 estimate of 2,486,283. The religion figures it gives for the 2025 census are Islam 65.78%, Protestant 20.15%, Buddhism 8.79%, Catholic 4.63% and Hinduism 0.79%, so Muslims are a majority of about two thirds. The dominant ethnic groups are Batak and Javanese, with smaller Malay, Chinese, Acehnese, Indian, Nias and Sundanese populations. Minangkabau arrived from the late 19th century, and after migration surged in the 1960s to 1980s they came to be 10.9% of the population. The Malays are natives of the city, with communities in Medan Maimun, Kota Matsum, Labuhan and Belawan, and there is a Tamil community around Kampung Madras.
Medan grew as part of the Deli Sultanate, and its mosques date from that period. The Al-Osmani Mosque in Medan Labuhan was begun in 1854 by Sultan Osman Perkasa Alam as a wooden building and rebuilt as a permanent structure between 1870 and 1872 by his son Sultan Mahmud Perkasa Alam; Wikipedia calls it the oldest mosque in the city, and five royal figures are buried there. Sources differ on some dates and on the architect. The Grand Mosque of Medan (Masjid Raya Al-Mashun) was begun on 21 August 1906 and the first Friday prayers were held on 10 September 1909. Sultan Ma'mun Al Rashid Perkasa Alam started it as part of the Maimun Palace complex, with funds from the Sultanate of Deli, the Deli Maatschappij and Tjong A Fie. Its octagonal plan combines Moorish, Mughal and Spanish elements, and Wikipedia gives a capacity of 2,000.
For prayer times, Medan lies at 3.6 degrees north and uses Western Indonesia Time, WIB (UTC+7), without daylight saving. On this site's calculation the fast from Fajr to Maghrib in Medan lasts about 14 hours on 21 June and 13 and a half hours on 21 December. The day length changes little through the year, so Fajr, Maghrib and Isha move by only a few minutes between seasons. The Indonesia page describes how the start of Ramadan and Eid can differ between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Muhammadiyah. The congregation times are set by each mosque.
