Clocks change on 24 April and 29 October. Prayer times on those days shift by an hour on the clock, not in the sky. How times are calculated

Banī Mazār, the Sun and the clock

Banī Mazār is in Minya and has about 120,000 people. The nearest larger city is Minya, 45 km to the south. Banī Mazār lies almost on the 30° E meridian that its time zone is based on, so the Sun is highest close to 12:00 on the clock, around 11:57 on average. Dhuhr begins just after that moment. In summer, when the clocks go forward an hour, that moment moves to around 12:57.

The Sun never stands straight overhead in Banī Mazār: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 85° above the horizon in June and only 38° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Banī Mazār range from 10h 20m in December to 13h 57m in June, a difference of 3h 37m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
