Ramadan timetable for BüyükçekmeceSalah times Büyükçekmece: calculation method and Asr
Method: Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı method (Turkey). Asr: Standard.
Times follow Diyanet's official method: İmsak (Fajr) at 18°, Yatsı (Isha) at 17°, plus temkin, the fixed precaution minutes Diyanet adds (sunrise −7, Dhuhr +5, Asr +4, Maghrib +7). In Turkey İmsak is when the fast begins and equals Fajr here. For the places we checked, our minutes match Diyanet's published tables or differ by one minute at most, because Diyanet may use slightly different coordinates for a town. Switch the method or the Asr school below if your mosque follows another timetable.

Büyükçekmece does not change its clocks; times stay on Europe/Istanbul all year. How times are calculated
Büyükçekmece, the Sun and the clock
Büyükçekmece is in Istanbul and has about 160,000 people. The nearest larger city is Beylikdüzü, 6 km to the southeast. Büyükçekmece lies 16.4° west of the 45° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 66 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 13:06, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.
The Sun never stands straight overhead in Büyükçekmece: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 72° above the horizon in June and only 26° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Büyükçekmece range from 9h 13m in December to 15h 8m in June, a difference of 5h 55m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
