Ramadan timetable for BornovaSalah times Bornova: calculation method and Asr
Method: Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı method (Turkey). Asr: Standard.
Times follow Diyanet's official method: İmsak (Fajr) at 18°, Yatsı (Isha) at 17°, plus temkin, the fixed precaution minutes Diyanet adds (sunrise −7, Dhuhr +5, Asr +4, Maghrib +7). In Turkey İmsak is when the fast begins and equals Fajr here. For the places we checked, our minutes match Diyanet's published tables or differ by one minute at most, because Diyanet may use slightly different coordinates for a town. Switch the method or the Asr school below if your mosque follows another timetable.

Bornova does not change its clocks; times stay on Europe/Istanbul all year. How times are calculated
Bornova, the Sun and the clock
Bornova is in Izmir Province and has about 450,000 people. The nearest larger city is İzmir, 12 km to the southwest. Bornova lies 17.8° west of the 45° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 71 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 13:11, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.
The Sun never stands straight overhead in Bornova: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 75° above the horizon in June and only 28° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Bornova range from 9h 29m in December to 14h 51m in June, a difference of 5h 22m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
