Ede does not change its clocks; times stay on Africa/Lagos all year. How times are calculated
Ede, the Sun and the clock
Ede is in Osun State and has about 160,000 people. The nearest larger city is Osogbo, 14 km to the east-northeast. Ede lies 10.6° west of the 15° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 42 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 12:42, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.
Ede lies within the tropics. Around 10 April and 3 September the Sun passes straight overhead at Dhuhr, and upright objects cast almost no shadow at noon. Day length hardly changes in Ede, from 11h 40m to 12h 34m through the year, so prayer times move only a little from season to season.
