The Ministry's own timetable is the official reference in Morocco and ours has not been compared with it yet. Midelt does not change its clocks; times stay on Africa/Casablanca all year. How times are calculated

Midelt, the Sun and the clock

Midelt is in Beni Mellal-Khenifra and has about 60,000 people. Midelt lies 19.7° west of the 15° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 79 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 13:19, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.

The Sun never stands straight overhead in Midelt: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 81° above the horizon in June and only 34° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Midelt range from 10h 0m in December to 14h 18m in June, a difference of 4h 18m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them. At 1,462 m above sea level, Midelt sits on high ground. Times are calculated for a level horizon; from a hilltop or a tall building sunrise can come a little earlier and sunset a little later than listed, while mountains to the east or west do the opposite.
