Najafgarh does not change its clocks; times stay on Asia/Kolkata all year. How times are calculated

Najafgarh, the Sun and the clock

Najafgarh is in Delhi and has about 1,400,000 people. Najafgarh lies 5.5° west of the 82.5° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 22 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 12:22, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.

The Sun never stands straight overhead in Najafgarh: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 85° above the horizon in June and only 38° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Najafgarh range from 10h 19m in December to 13h 58m in June, a difference of 3h 39m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
