Hyderabad does not change its clocks; times stay on Asia/Kolkata all year. How times are calculated
Hyderabad is the main city of Telangana, home to about 7,000,000 people. Hyderabad lies 4° west of the 82.5° E meridian that its time zone is based on. The Sun therefore reaches its highest point about 16 minutes after 12:00 on average, around 12:16, and Dhuhr comes later than the clock suggests.
Hyderabad lies within the tropics. Around 10 May and 4 August the Sun passes straight overhead at Dhuhr, and upright objects cast almost no shadow at noon. Days in Hyderabad range from 11h 5m in December to 13h 10m in June, a difference of 2h 5m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
Prayer times shift with longitude: about 4 minutes for every degree east or west. Here is how today's Fajr and Maghrib in nearby places compare with Hyderabad, calculated with the same method.

Get Awqatly for Windows (free)The Makkah Masjid, near the Charminar, Chowmahalla Palace and the Laad Bazaar, is the primary mosque of the Old City of Hyderabad. Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah, the sixth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, laid the foundation stone in 1617, and the mosque was completed in 1694 under the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. It takes its name from the bricks made of soil brought from Mecca that were used in the central arch. It is built of dressed stone, granite and brick, and its prayer hall has five open arches and two minarets. It holds 10,000 worshippers.
The mosque is also a place where the city's history can be felt. On 18 May 2007 a bomb exploded inside during Friday prayers, killing at least sixteen people and injuring dozens, and police defused two more devices nearby. It remains an active mosque and is the primary mosque for the Old City.
For prayer times, Hyderabad lies at 17.4 degrees north and India uses Indian Standard Time, UTC+5:30. On this site's calculation the fast from Fajr to Maghrib in Hyderabad lasts about 14 and a half hours on 21 June and 12 and a half hours on 21 December. Most mosques in the city use the Karachi angles of 18 degrees with the Hanafi Asr, while in Kerala and coastal Karnataka it is the Shafi'i school that is followed, which is why the Standard Asr is shown first there. Moon-sighting announcements differ between city committees, so Ramadan and Eid may begin on different days in different Indian cities, and congregation times are set by each mosque.
