Gazipur does not change its clocks; times stay on Asia/Dhaka all year. How times are calculated

Gazipur, the Sun and the clock

Gazipur is in Dhaka Division and has about 2,700,000 people. Gazipur lies almost on the 90° E meridian that its time zone is based on, so the Sun is highest close to 12:00 on the clock, around 11:58 on average. Dhuhr begins just after that moment.

The Sun never stands straight overhead in Gazipur: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 89° above the horizon in June and only 43° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Gazipur range from 10h 39m in December to 13h 37m in June, a difference of 2h 58m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
