Comilla does not change its clocks; times stay on Asia/Dhaka all year. How times are calculated

Comilla, the Sun and the clock

Comilla is in Chittagong and has about 630,000 people. Comilla lies 1.2° east of the 90° E meridian that its time zone is based on, so the Sun is highest about 5 minutes before 12:00 on average, around 11:55, and Dhuhr comes earlier than the clock suggests.

The Sun never stands straight overhead in Comilla: at Dhuhr it climbs to about 90° above the horizon in June and only 43° in December, so noon shadows are much longer in December. Days in Comilla range from 10h 41m in December to 13h 35m in June, a difference of 2h 54m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.
