Chattogram does not change its clocks; times stay on Asia/Dhaka all year. How times are calculated
Chattogram is the main city of Chittagong, home to about 3,900,000 people. Chattogram lies 1.8° east of the 90° E meridian that its time zone is based on, so the Sun is highest about 7 minutes before 12:00 on average, around 11:53, and Dhuhr comes earlier than the clock suggests.
Chattogram lies within the tropics. Around 4 June and 10 July the Sun passes straight overhead at Dhuhr, and upright objects cast almost no shadow at noon. Days in Chattogram range from 10h 46m in December to 13h 30m in June, a difference of 2h 44m, and Fajr, Maghrib and Isha shift with them.

It says that Muslim settlement began as early as the seventh century and that most of today's Muslims descend from early Persian and Arab traders, rulers and preachers; merchants from the Abbasid Caliphate are recorded setting up a trading post in the 9th century. It also describes a wealthy Shia community that includes Ismailis and Twelver Shias, and a small Urdu-speaking Bihari community in Bihari Colony.
Chattogram is known as the Land of the Twelve Saints because of its many Sufi shrines, among them those of Shah Amanat, Badr Auliya, Miskin Shah and Garibullah Shah. The shrine at Nasirabad near the cantonment carries the name of Bayazid Bostami, the Iranian saint who died in 874. Local people believe he visited, but Banglapedia says there is no authentic record that he ever came to Chittagong. The hilltop Anderkilla Shahi Jame Mosque dates from 1667, when Persian inscriptions place its construction under the governor Shaista Khan; later accounts credit his son Buzurg Umed Khan. It has three minarets about 41 metres high. British officials stored arms in it in 1761, and after Muslim notables led by Hamidullah petitioned in 1853 it was released for worship in 1855. The Kadam Mubarak Mosque was built in 1723 by a faujdar of the Nawabs of Bengal.
